Do you have any posts about tapering off hydrocortisone? I'm 3 wks. post op pituitary tumor surgery and starting to taper.
ReplyDeleteHey the only post I have is in the FAQs but I basically started weaning slowly and would cut my pills so if I was taking 40 mg I would cut down to 35mg for like a month then to 30mg and so on every month but I got stuck at 10mg forever Bc I felt terrible without the steroids. Eventually I pushed myself to 5mg SLOWLY ok and I recovered. I tried to cut down too fast and almost had to go to the hospital of shock so don't taper too fast. also take enough to function but also challlenge your adrenal to wake up. ReplyDeleteI'm going through the same thing and I'm currently under investigation for high cortisol levels which I believe is because of "Cushing's Sydrome. Everyone thinks that you're overreacting, the Doctors would brush it off as something else to the point where you think that you're losing your mind. Like you I was keeping my distance from my family and friends which put me in a lonely and very dark place. It's good to know that I'm not alone and I would like to thank you for this because you have given me hope.
